Cancer doulas offer many types of support for you and your family including (but not limited to): emotional help, involvement, resources, guidance, comfort, education, and other help. Doulas can help at any point in your cancer journey.

No, a cancer doula does not work for the medical facility. This is an independent service leaving all the medical matters to the doctors and nurses.

Cancer doula is all about empowering the patient and family to create an environment and experience of walking through cancer that is supportive and nurturing. Provide a safe space to listen and help process the journey, lending physical and emotional support, presence, reassurance, and information.

The cancer doula isn’t busy with the medical side of things and can provide uninterrupted emotional support for the patient and their family. A cancer diagnosis is very overwhelming, the cancer doula will also help organize and manage the immense amount of information provided by the medical team.
